Construction of the Studio:
The wall that separates the Blue Room from the mixing and mastering room are double drywalled on each side and drywall pieces have the revolutionary Green Glue in between them to minimize sound bleed through.
All sounds are waves. From the moment sounds are made they are sent out in all directions from the source. They hit walls and objects and bounce around the room that you are in. In order to control these reflections you need to treat the walls with sound absorbing/diffusing materials. These include what are called bass traps and QRD’s (quadratic residue diffusor). I have designed and built my own bass traps and QRD’s custom made to treat the mixing and live recording room. These optimize the quality of recording by reducing reflection and refraction as well as frequency spikes and cancellation.
